Extended Minimal Routing in 2-D Meshes with Faulty Blocks

چکیده
In this paper, several enhanced sufficient conditions are given for minimal routing in 2-dimensional (2-D) meshes with faulty nodes contained in a set of disjoint faulty blocks. It is based on an early work of Wu’s minimal routing in 2D meshes. Fault information is coded in a 4-tuple called extended safety level associated with each node to determine the feasibility of minimal routing. Specifically, we study the existence of minimal route at a given source node based on the associated extended safety level, limited distribution of faulty block information, and minimal routing. An analytical model for the number of rows and columns that receive faulty block information is also given. Extensions to Wang’s minimal-connected-components (MCCs) fault model are also considered. Simulation results show substantial improvement in terms of higher percentage of minimal routing in 2-D meshes under both fault models.

A Fault-Tolerant Adaptive and Minimal Routing Approach in 3-D Meshes
In this paper a sufficient condition is given for minimal routing in n-dimensional (n-D) meshes with faulty nodes contained in a set of disjoint fault regions. It is based on an early work of the author on minimal routing in low dimension meshes (such as 2-D meshes with faulty blocks). Unlike many traditional models that assume all the nodes know global fault distribution, our approach is based...

ÐThe minimal routing problem in mesh-connected multicomputers with faulty blocks is studied, Two-dimensional meshes are used to illustrate the approach. A sufficient condition for minimal routing in 2D meshes with faulty blocks is proposed. Unlike many traditional models that assume all the nodes know global fault distribution, our approach is based on the concept of an extended safety level, w...

متن کاملA Fault-Tolerant and Deadlock-Free Routing Protocol in 2D Meshes Based on Odd-Even Turn Model
We propose a deterministic fault-tolerant and deadlock-free routing protocol in 2-dimensional (2-D) meshes based on dimension-order routing and the odd-even turn model. The proposed protocol, called extended X-Y routing, does not use any virtual channels by prohibiting certain locations of faults and destinations. Faults are contained in a set of disjointed rectangular regions called faulty blo...
متن کاملA Limited-Global Fault Information Model for Dynamic Routing in 2-D Meshes
In this paper, a fault-tolerant routing in 2-D meshes with dynamic faults is provided. It is based on an early work on minimal routing in 2-D meshes with static faults. Unlike many traditional models that assume all the nodes know global fault information, our approach is based on the concept of limited global fault information. First, a fault model called faulty block is used in which all faul...
